Serie A Champions

Serie A Betting Odds

In recent seasons the Serie A has been absolutely dominated by Juventus. In fact, they have won the title for the last five seasons making them unstoppable. This season is well and truly underway and things are looking close at the top of the table with the likes of AC Milan and Roma desperately trying to topple the Italian giants. Here is a closer look at the latest Serie A betting odds.

William Hill

1. Juventus 1/7

It comes as no surprise that they are huge favourites to make it six titles in a row. Just looking at their squad shows the immense experience and talent that they possess and why it has become seemingly impossible for other teams to match them. In goal they have Gianluigi Buffon who is still going strong at 38-years-of-age while in defence the partnership of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci is one of the strongest in world football. The signing of Gonzalo Higuain in the summer strengthened them immensely and made up for the loss of their star midfielder, Paul Pogba.

For The Old Lady things are looking perfect in their league and while they are still struggling to match the best in Europe, they are massive favourites to make it an incredible six league titles in a row.

2. AS Roma 15/2

They are pushing Juventus hard this season and their fans will be desperate to keep up with the leaders right until the end of the season; where hopefully they will see their team break the champions winning streak. Roma failed to qualify for this season’s Champions League and will be hoping to give everything in this season’s Serie A. The last time Roma conquered the Serie A was way back in the 2000/01 season and their supporters will feel they are long overdue to win it again.

The legendary Francesco Totti has been ever loyal to his club and even at 40-years-old still has something to offer. Apart from him the club has Mohamed Salah and Edin Dzeko as two of their top forwards. Dzeko has scored plenty of goals already this season and will be a serious contender for the golden boot award.  It’s going to be a long season for Roma but they have started off well and are in with a chance of going all the way.

3. AC Milan 16/1

One of the most supported clubs in the world but not the force they once used to be in the Serie A. The last time they won the league was in the 2010/11 season when they had some of the greatest players in the world including Ibrahimovic, Nesta, Inzaghi and Ronaldinho.

Their current squad is arguably missing players of the highest standard now and they are finding it increasingly more difficult to match Juventus in the Serie A. They still rely heavily on an ageing Andrea Pirlo while Carlos Bacca is a major threat up front and scoring freely for Milan. They would love to compete with Juventus but times have changed and there is a lot to be done in order for Milan to reach the heights that Juventus are currently at.

4. Napoli 16/1

Another team that goes through patches of brilliance but ultimately shows too much inconsistency. They lost arguably their best player in forward Gonzalo Higuain in the summer when he made the move across to Juventus. They still possess a strong squad including well known internationals such as Lorenzo Insigne, Marek Hamsik and Polish forward Arkadiusz Milik.

For Napoli though they haven’t got off to the best of starts this season and it’s going to take a remarkable turnaround if they are to challenge for the Serie A title.

5. Inter Milan 60/1

Who would have thought the mighty Inter Milan would be given such low odds to win the Serie A? Inter dominated the Serie A from 2005 until 2010 winning five league titles in a row but since then have failed to win the league again. They got off to a horrendous start to the season and have already sacked Dutch manager Frank De Boer. New manager Stefano Pioli has vowed to make Inter great again but it may be too late to challenge this season.

Inter are well off the pace and despite Mauro Icardi firing in the goals, they haven’t been very sound in defence. Perhaps next season we will see a stronger Inter side but for now their chances of winning the league this season are slim.

Last 10 Serie A Winners

Over the last ten seasons only three teams have won the Serie A league. Juventus are currently on a five season win streak and before them AC Milan took the honours, after Inter Milan had a five season win streak of their own. Never bet against the roll as gamblers often say, which may mean Juventus will continue to lead the Serie A betting odds for at least another season.

Serie A Quick Facts

No team has dominated the Serie A like Juventus, who have won the league a magnificent 32 times. That’s an absolutely astounding achievement with both Milan clubs tied for a distant second on 18 titles a piece.

The Serie A has existed in Italy since 1898 in one form or the other, making it one of the most historical and prestigious tournaments in football. The great Silvio Piola is the leading goalscorer in Serie A history with a mammoth 274 goals over his 25 year career. Francesco Totti is still active however and only trails by 24 goals, on a massive 250 goals of his own.
